World Hypertension Day Celebration

The World Hypertension Day Celebration was conducted successfully at the Cardiac OPD of PKDIMS on the occasion of World Hypertension Day. The programme was organized on the theme of promoting healthy lifestyle practices and creating awareness regarding hypertension prevention and management.
The programme was held on 18 May 2026 from 10.00 a.m. to 10.30 a.m. at the Cardiac OPD. The session commenced with a warm welcome address delivered by Mr. Snehesh. The highlight of the programme was a role play on the topic “Healthy Life and Unhealthy Life,” performed effectively by Ms. Sweetha and team from II Year B.Sc Nursing. The role play conveyed the importance of healthy dietary habits, regular exercise, stress management, and avoidance of unhealthy lifestyle practices in preventing hypertension and related complications.
The programme received good participation and appreciation from the audience in the OPD setting. The awareness activity helped patients and bystanders understand the significance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle for better cardiac health.
The vote of thanks was delivered by Ms. Vaiha, expressing gratitude to all dignitaries, participants, faculty members, and attendees for their support and cooperation in making the programme successful.
The programme was coordinated by Dr. Prof. Geetha Chitra J under the guidance and authorization of Dr. Prof. A. Priya Mary Stella,Principal, P.K.DAS college of nursing. The event concluded successfully with positive feedback from the participants and audience.
