ENGLISH FOR NURSES – STRATEGIES TO LEAD YOU TO THE BEST CAREER DEVELOPMENT
On 12th September 2025, a special session titled “English for Nurses” was organized at P.K.DAS College of Nursing, Panayur (PO), Vaniyamkulam, Palakkad. The session was conducted by Senior Manager at Burlington English, who served as the Resource Person. The program aimed at equipping nursing students with essential communication skills in English that are vital for professional success in today’s healthcare field. Mr. Nishikant Mishra emphasized the importance of job readiness, professional communication, and career development strategies. He highlighted how proficiency in English enhances the employability, builds confidence and helps nurses excel in both national and international healthcare sectors. During the session, students were introduced to: • Effective communication skills for clinical and academic settings. • The role of English fluency in interviews, patient care, and global opportunities. • Job readiness strategies, including soft skills, resume preparation and interview handling. • The importance of continuous learning and adaptability in the healthcare profession. The interactive session provided practical insights and motivated the students to focus on developing their language and professional skills in parallel with their nursing education. Students actively participated, asked questions, and gained valuable guidance for shaping their careers. The program was concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Sreya P, 6th semester B.Sc. Nursing student, appreciating Mr. Nishikant Mishra for his insightful session. Overall, the event proved to be highly beneficial and encouraged the students to strive towards being competent, confident and career – ready nursing professionals.
