The PTA Executive Meeting was held on September 18, 2025, at 10:45 AM in the PKDCN Conference Room. The meeting commenced with a silent prayer, seeking blessings for the fruitful conduct of the session. The PTA Secretary warmly welcomed the Principal, Vice Principal, Former PTA President all PTA Executive Members, Class Coordinators, and the Administrative Officer to the meeting. A special welcome was extended to the Principal, who was invited to lead discussions on important academic matters.
The meeting commenced by honoring the former PTA President, Mr. Thomas K. S. Prof. Dr. A. Priya Mary Stella, Principal of PKDCN, delivered a heartfelt gratitude address, followed by remarks from the PTA President and other members. A small token of love was also presented as a gesture of appreciation.
The following points are dicussed by Principal about the academic progress, clinical posting and internship: • Academic Progress: Progress of the academic programme is proceeding as planned. • Clinical Posting Timing: Clinical postings have been revised to 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. to provide improved exposure. • Internship Pattern: Internship will continue in the format of staff nurse duties with three shifts and a weekly off. Postings at Shalom Hospital and Taluk Hospital, Ottapalam will continue as usual. • Arts Day at Kottayam: Detailed explanation of practical difficulties regarding accommodation, food and security for a one-week programme was shared. Parents understood the situation and agreed not to grant permission. • Leadership Development Programme: Introduction of “Noble” programme in Coimbatore to enhance leadership qualities, professional etiquette, etc. • 3rd Semester University Examination: Issues related to cancellation were discussed. • NAAC and ISO Achievements: NAAC result was declared and heartfelt appreciation extended to PTA members for their support. The institution has also received ISO certification. • Hostel Timings: Outing timings revised to 8:00 a.m.–11:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m. Provision for ordering food from outside has been granted.
Class Coordinators shared their concerns about frequent leaves and absenteeism of students during sessional exams, highlighting the need for better attendance and participation. It was also decided that during Class PTA meetings, the presence of all parents is mandatory, and can be done one per year. Another concern was raised regarding the clinical timming for dayscholars will be difficult.
Open Discussion • PTA Executive Members inquired about the challenges faced by day scholars during clinical postings. • Suggestions were made for hostel facilities for girls during night duty.
During the discussion, Mr. Benny Paul, Administrative Officer, shared his viewpoints and strategies to improve academic performance. The PTA President also provided valuable suggestions and feedback. All executive members expressed their gratitude to the institution and agreed to convey these matters to their respective batch groups. The need to strengthen counselling sessions within the college was also highlighted to improve student discipline and academic performance.
The next executive meeting will be held on Induction Day along with the General Body Meeting. The meeting concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Mrs. Rani G. S., PTA Treasurer, who expressed gratitude to all participants for their active involvement and commitment to student welfare
