INTERNATIONAL MIDWIFERY DAY CELEBRATION

International Midwifery Day is observed annually on May 5 to recognize and celebrate the vital contributions of midwives globally. The theme for the 2025 International Day of the Midwife is "Midwives: Critical in Every Crisis," which underscores the indispensable roles that midwives play in emergency and humanitarian situations across the world. This theme highlights their significant impact on healthcare systems, particularly during times of crisis. In honour of this important day P.K. Das College of Nursing has organized a series of competitions aimed at engaging nursing students, raising awareness, and promoting excellence in maternal care.

On this special occasion, the Indian Nursing Council (INC) hosted a small impactful webinar that sparked considerable enthusiasm from participants. The event featured a series of informative sessions that not only educated attendees but also paid heartfelt tributes to the vital role of healthcare professionals. By incorporating a webinar format, the INC was able to facilitate wider participation. Over 320 students and 20 faculty members from our college engaging in the discussions. The event served as a platform for fostering dialogue and understanding of these interconnected issues, highlighting the importance of integrating environmental considerations into maternal health practices.
