VISIT TO POLYGARDEN
On October 10th 2024 Community Health Nursing Department Of P.K Das College Of Nursing visited polygarden ,a place for physically and mentally challenged people at Lakkidi .The beneficiaries of this visit are residents of polygarden home for differentially abled .There were 130 inmates. The aim of the visit was to inculcate an empathetic approach in students towards the people with physically and mentally challenged and to develop a compassionate approach along with trying to understand their health related problems .Students were involved in Blood Sugar Monitoring,Checking Blood Pressure ,BMI calculation and they were also involved in various activities like dancing ,singing ,conducting games etc. Students of 4th year Bsc nursing had an interactive session with the inmates of polygarden .Total 58 students are participated in the visit .Prof.Dr.Lt.Col.Regina .P.F.Professor HOD OBG Department,Prof .Zaina Elizebath Jose Professor And HOD Community Health Nursing Department ,Mrs,Shincy.K,Assistant Professor Department Of Community Health Nursing participated in this visit .Both the inmates of the centre and students were benefitted from this programme .It was a platform to express their concerns .
