OLD AGE HOME VISIT –ABHAYAM
Community health nursing department of pk das college of nursingalong with 4th year b,sc nursing students visited Abhayam Old Age home at kulappully on 31/08/2024 at 10:00am .There we learnt more about true life and sharing and caringThere were 23 elderly inmates at the old age home. The students of the college interacted with the elderly. All of them were above the age of seventy to seventy-five. They are all financially dependent on their families or on charity. Their physical condition is good. There are many recreational facilities available to them and these facilities were properly used by them. However, all of them were lonely and carving for love and affections. We spoke to them, shared our love and they sang songs for us. Some of our Students were danced for them; they also started dancing with us. They shared their sadness and personal stories with us. However, the care shown to them by the helping hands at the home was indeed inspiring. Finally, we left with a heavy heart from them. It was a great time spent with them; we are really blessed for this opportunity..The inmates were very happy and blessed everyone. Later, fruits were distributed to them. It was a joyous occasion with full of satisfaction that the team could bring some rays of happiness among the elderly. And it was wonderful experience in life.
