The session started at 6:00 pm, and the event's speaker, Ms Helma Maria Monterio, was introduced by Mr Popson Antony, along with Ms Leslay Rachel Vargughese from MEDCITY INTERNATIONAL ACADEMY. They explained about the MEDCITY INTERNATIONAL ACADEMY and their coaching. The session aims to equip students with a comprehensive understanding of global nursing career opportunities. Nursing is a highly regarded profession worldwide, and there is a significant shortage of nurses, particularly in countries like the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, and various Middle Eastern nations, where Indian nurses are in high demand due to their strong clinical skills, English proficiency, and adaptability. Each country has its own set of requirements and benefits for instance, the USA requires passing the NCLEX-RN and offers high salaries and advanced practice roles, while the UK provides NHS sponsorship and free adaptation training. Australia and Canada have their respective licensing authorities and exams, with Canada offering excellent migration options despite a longer process. The Middle East is attractive for its tax-free salaries and quicker placements. Additionally, specialized nursing roles such as ICU, emergency, and pediatric nursing are in high demand globally. To succeed, aspiring global nurses should focus on essential skills like clinical competence, effective communication, cultural sensitivity, and a commitment to continuous learning. Planning a global nursing career involves completing nursing qualifications, gaining clinical experience, preparing for language proficiency tests, passing licensure exams, and securing visas and employer sponsorships. However, challenges such as exam anxiety, financial constraints, and cultural adjustments can be managed through proper coaching, financial planning, and orientation programs. By the end of the class, participants will grasp the eligibility criteria for working internationally, familiarize themselves with popular destinations, necessary exams, and visa processes, and outline actionable steps to embark on an international nursing journey.
