REPORT ON WORLD DIABETES DAY OBSERVATION
As a part of the world Diabetes Day celebration, the 3rd semester B.Sc Nursing students of PK DAS college of Nursing, under the medical surgical Nursing Department, organized an awareness session on Diabetes mellitus at the Family Health Centre, Vaniyamkulam, on 14 November 2025. .The Programme aimed to enhance public awareness regarding diabetes, its prevention, management and complications
The session began at 10.am .The theme for world Diabetes Day 2025 was “Diabetes across Life Stages”. The theme was presented by Miss. Abiya Jacob. Students of the group delivered an informative and well structured health education session covering definitions, types, risk factors, pathophysiology, signs &symptoms , complications, management and preventive measures of diabetes. A question and answer session was conducted to assess the audience understanding. Participants who answered correctly were encouraged and gifted with pens.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks presented by Miss Adithiya C.M The event effectively disseminated essential knowledge about diabetes to the community. The team work coordination and active participation of students contributed to the success of the programme.
