REPORT ON ANTI-RAGGING AWARENESS PROGRAMME-2025

The Anti-Ragging Awareness Programme was organized by antiragging cell of P.k. Das college of nursing on 03.12.2025 at 2.30pm address the critical issue of ragging in educate students about the severe consequences of ragging and to promote a safe, respectful and supportive campus environment. The programme was well attended by students of first semester B.SC Nursing students.

Objectives

• To raise awareness among students about the negative impact of ragging
• To inform students about the legal consequence of ragging
• To encourage students to foster a culture of respect and inclusively on campus
• To provide a platform for students to express their views and experiences regarding ragging

The event commenced at 2.30pm with a warm welcome by Ms.M.P. Athira First Semester B.Sc. Nursing student. The chief guest of the programme was Advocate. Unnikrishnan, Legal Advisor, NGIK. Key note address was delivered by Dr. Sebastian. P. D, Director, Nehru Academy of Law. He highlighted the psychological and emotional harm that ragging can cause and emphasized the importance of zero tolerance toward such activities. The speech also covered the institutional policies and support systems available for victims of ragging. Felicitation was delivered by Prof.Dr. A. Priya Mary Stella, Principal, P.k. Das college of Nursing

The event saw participation from approximately 100 students from First Semester B.Sc. Nursing and 3 faculty members. The Anti-ragging awareness programme was a crucial step toward creating a safer and more inclusive campus environment. The institution remains committed to eradicating ragging and will continue to organise similar programmes in the future to reinforce this message. The program reinforced the message that ragging is a punishable offense and that a culture of mutual respect and empathy is essential for fostering a positive academic and social atmosphere.
