The Child Health Nursing Department of P. K. Das College of Nursing, organized an Immunization Awareness Quiz Programme on 18th November 2025 as part of its public health education initiatives. The event was held at the V Semester Classroom and was conducted by the V Semester B.Sc. Nursing students. The event inaugurated by our beloved principal Prof Dr A Priya Mary Stella and theme revealed by vice principal cum HOD of child health nursing department Prof Dr Ariyalakshmi B
The theme for the programme was “Immunization for All is Humanly Possible”, emphasizing the importance of universal vaccination and the need for strengthening immunity across all age groups. The session aimed at enhancing students’ knowledge regarding national immunization schedules, recent updates in vaccines, and global efforts to prevent vaccine-preventable diseases.
The programme began at 10:30 AM with a brief introduction on the significance of immunization in improving community health indicators. It highlighted the role of nurses in vaccine administration, counselling, and awareness creation among families.
A quiz competition was conducted as the central activity, featuring multiple rounds that tested the participants’ knowledge in areas such as newborn immunization, vaccine storage and handling, adverse events following immunization (AEFI), and national health programmes. Students actively participated, demonstrating strong awareness and competitive spirit.
The event successfully combined education with interactive learning, providing students with an opportunity to revise key concepts related to immunization in an engaging manner. Faculty members of the Child Health Nursing Department appreciated the efforts of the students for organizing the programme and encouraged them to continue promoting community health through educational initiatives.
The programme concluded with positive feedback from both participants and faculty, reinforcing the importance of such academic activities in preparing competent future nurses.
